We started in the underground gallery for the underground vigil. Although this is only a reconstruction of a mine shaft, it is very authentic and atmospheric and not without spirit presence. We knew we were being accompanied and joined by several spirit beings during our hour long vigil.
We called out and invited spirit to communicate with us and received noises, temperature changes, atmosphere changes, feelings / touch, sighs,
smells, breathing, shadows & other types of communication in return. Several photo`s were taken which contain Orbs, plus although nothing like it
had been seen during the vigil or on the camera, some of mine also contain a mysterious mist!

A couple of times we stood in silence and complete darkness. During one of these times a spirit called Anthony approached me and told me he
was there with one of the group and would accompany her to keep her safe. I asked him who he was with and he told me just to mention his name and she would know, so I did as he asked and Tanya said she knew who he was and that he was actually a coal miner himself!

Spectrum had previously told me his father would also be coming to the colliery with us. He had also been a coal miner in life and a very dear friend
of mine, so it was extremely comforting knowing he was also with me and Spectrum, they both made contact with me several times.

At one stage underground we were standing in the shaft and I sensed a spirit peeping around a corner at us, so I invited him to come and join us.
He was a little hesitant at first but gradually he came closer and I felt his energy as he drew close then felt him walk past me to the next person, who
in turn felt his energy come close and then walk to the next person. The same happened all the way along the line until each person in the group
had felt him approach then walk past! Later on in another part of the shaft Samantha said she could feel the presence of a spirit drawing close,
again the spirit went up to each of the group individually just like in the previous experience! The photo of mine in the mine shaft which has mist on it, was actually taken at the time I was trying to encourage the first of these spirit beings to come and join us and he started to approach!
Whilst standing by the coal wagons Samantha said she felt tingly and odd sensations. I noticed there were electric cables so she could have been picking up or sensing emissions from them, but we couldn`t prove or disprove anything either way.

There were a few hysterical occasions in the mine which were not caused by spirit presence but by the presence of a few spiders, but we managed to overcome this and enjoyed a fairly interesting and active underground vigil !

After a break we then went into the Exhibition Area for the Multiple Activities which included Angel & Spirit Boards, Pendulums, Dowsing Rods,
Automatic Writing & Mirror Scrying in the main exhibition area and EVP with digital voice recorder on the Tram. On the way in Samantha was
excited to find the name of her grandfather on the wall plaque of honour for the miners who had worked at the colliery.
For privacy reasons I won`t put his name here unless Samantha says it`s okay to do so later on.

Angela and I took a walk around to take photo`s, Angela wanted to take photo`s of me with the model Pit Pony so I stood with him for her.
Then Siân, Angela and Tanya went onto the tram and were overcome with a fit of uncontrollable giggles and sillyness, which stopped almost as suddenly as it started! Teresa, Ceri, Sarah and I went on the angel board and received some personal communication from loved ones. One spelled out Spectrum`s father`s name but Sarah also knew someone in spirit with the same name, so I asked for the first letter of his surname and it turned out to be Spectrum`s father, which was lovely. We had a short personal conversation and then I withdrew from the board so others could get a look
- in with it, Tanya, Siân and Samantha then joined in and took turns whilst I went onto the tram. I was followed up on the top deck by spirit and sat in silence for a while then asked for spirit to communicate on the recorder, I don`t know yet if anything was picked up. Then I went to the bottom deck and did the same again. On the angel board Siân (my daughter) received an almost identical message to the one I received at The Empire Building, "S R S LUSH DAL". S R S are her initials and as explained on the Empire report, we had recently lost our beloved Dalmatian and everyone who
met him said he was "Lush". It was just being confirmed by spirit he is okay and still with us, and just as admired in spirit as he had been here!
Samantha and I did some automatic writing. Samantha had the spirit of David Jones write that he had worked at the colliery since he was a boy,
he couldn`t go to war so ended up there instead. He was 83 when he died in bed. His wife`s name was Edna, they had two sons Fred & Billy who were very good boys, and grandsons Christian and Peter. He then wrote Thankyou for listening before leaving. I had the spirit of Dylan who wrote
" Hello I am Dylan. I am a miner. I like to watch you tonight. Keep safe butties. D. "
Before we knew it break time was upon us and it was time to reluctantly leave the area, it had been a very interesting activity session.

Next it was time for all three groups to meet in the Winding Engine Room for the Sęance. We had placed the Spirit Trumpet and Portal in the room previously to help attract spirit energy. We stood in a circle holding hands whilst introducing ourselves and inviting spirit to come and communicate with us. In response there were several noises, smells, feelings, emotions, lights, shadows, temperature and atmosphere changes. Some people called out things they were receiving from spirit and others could take what was being said. I got the spirit of Harry Thomas who was connected with the colliery. He was happy we were all there but wasn`t very amused none of us were wearing safety helmets! Michelle was approached by the very emotional spirit of a man who wasn`t connected with the colliery but who had seen the light emitted as we went about our business. He knew this light represented people who could help him, so he came to make contact, using the portal as his means of entry. He wanted to be with his loved ones, and after a struggle to stop him becoming too forceful towards Michelle out of desperation, between us we managed to calm him down and help him cross over to his loved ones. His wife came and collected him, much to his delight and our relief! About half way through the session we went into another room which contained glass display cabinets full of information on the colliery and mining in general. Again we stood in a circle holding hands and introduced ourselves. As before there were lots of sounds, lights, shadows, feelings, emotions, smells etc and people called out things they were getting. Andy got a pain in his ear and a few people felt sick and dizzy. I felt as if spirit was trying to stand between myself and Alix, Alix also felt the same thing, we both moved over and turned aside at the same time and felt the energy of a little boy. Alix said his name was Tommy and he was holding her hand. Someone else said his name was Thomas but he said he likes to be called Tommy, adding that only his mummy ever called him Thomas when he was naughty! This sounded familiar to me so I asked him if he is Tommy from Hafan-Y-Coed who comes to me quite often when I`m there, which he confirmed. He said he likes Alix and me and likes to see what we do so came to be with us for the event. He happily stood between Alix and I throughout the rest of the sęance- although he made us stand sideways to give him room (he is a cheeky little chappie!). Samantha suddenly started to smell burning and had a very unpleasant feeling, then she became overcome with emotions and unsteady on her feet as the spirit of a man who died in a fire came close to her. I asked her to stand with me and between us we got him to stand back a bit and take away the unpleasant sensations for Samantha. Again it was a spirit who had come through the portal for help, Samantha and I helped him cross over to his loved ones and she felt fine again after a little while. Harry came back to me and said if we all put on safety helmets we wouldn`t have to hold torches and would have two free hands. He wasn`t very impressed we didn`t do as he suggested, but ended up laughing about us holding torches instead! Soon the Sęance was over and it was time for a break!

Next we went into the Boiler House for Table Tipping and Planchette. The table wasn`t very active although it did vibrate and tremble. It was a bit on the large side and on concrete so wouldn`t have been easy for spirit to move. We went over to the planchette which did try to move. We wrote yes and no on the paper as it seemed a little lost and confused, then we removed the pen and it seemed spirit could move it the planchette easier then.
However nothing of any significance came through. During our time in the area there were some noises, lights, shadows, smells, emotions and temperature / atmosphere changes, and again orbs & mist in photographs. Time for another break!

After the break it was time for the final activity of the night, which was the Remote Encounter. Guests had been given a raffle ticket on arrival, these were placed in a tub and drawn one at a time. The person with the drawn ticket could choose any member of the team to go with them to any part
of the colliery that we had access to, for 10 minutes vigil. Whilst they were there the rest of us called out to spirit to do something to them, make a sound or light in the room etc, they were to report back on the radio if anything happens. As always we had some very interesting results and on
quite a few occasions what we asked for, and what was reported back were very similar!

Then we had a feedback session and found quite a few things each group experienced in various parts of the colliery, were very similar or even the same, which is awesome! It was now time to end the event so I thanked our guests for coming, the spirits for giving us such a great night, the team
for their help and hard work and Heather & Sharon for allowing us to visit the colliery and for their help also. All that was left to do was check the Trigger Object which had been placed in a locked off room before we started the event. Heather checked it and it did appear to have been moved slightly, so I went back with some of the team and confirmed it had moved then took a photo before clearing it away. We then collected all our equipment and tidied up before leaving, definately planning another visit at a later date as it had been a fabulous night!

CEFN COED COLLIERY MUSEUM INVESTIGATION REPORT - SATURDAY APRIL 17TH TO SUNDAY APRIL 18TH 2010

I had the privilege of investigating the very atmospheric and active Cefn Coed Colliery Museum with the team and what an evening and morning it was! As soon as I walked into the place, comprised of several different areas; Exhibition area, Boiler room, Underground, in the fabulous Tram, and some other areas, I was immediately drawn to an area in the Exhibition room, towards the ceiling, as was Karen, spirit Medium, team leader and very talented in many other things spiritually. In the Exhibition area I immediately sensed spirit and then I took some photographs and a very large orb was directly above me, with a FACE in it, how nice for spirit to say hello! :-) I sense when spirit is near and over the months am finely-tuning and developing quite strongly, the ability to know for definite when spirit is near, telling the difference between various spirits/energies (thank you Karen for your advice and help with that), and lately I have experienced feeling actual physical sensations when near spirit; I was tapped on the head in the Underground area, my jacket was tugged, and hours before going to the Colliery I had specifically asked if spirit would please show their presence in the kitchen area - I felt a tap on the back of my neck, turned around, asked a member of the team did they accidentally touch me, they said no. I took this incident as verification that spirit had heard me miles away, hours before the investigation, when at my house. I know what I felt in that kitchen and in the Underground area, was it the same spirit I wonder? Was it my father as he passed away 6 weeks ago and was a CoalMiner, although not previously working at that particular Mine, but in the Lewis Merthyr Colliery, now incidentally also a Museum! I must go there soon! Our team are very eager to return as the Colliery Museum warrants further investigation as it's an active place and the spirits will be pleased to see us again i'm sure. :-)

As the evening progressed, our team split up into several groups, to record spirit activity using a variety of methods; spirit board, table tilting, automatic writing using a planchette, a seance', remote activity, and several other things. ALL of us have experienced something; being touched,
we have sensed spirit, 'heard' it clairaudiently, we have 'seen' spirit with our 3rd eye and we have photographic evidence of ectoplasm (spirit mist) appearing on photographs at the exact precise time that we looked at an area and recognised instantly that spirit were drawing near.

It's very interesting to me and fascinating that at one point, both myself and my friend and spirit medium Karen Owens, both picked up on a Brian, a spirit who seemed very welcoming as if beckoning us into the Underground area. I clearly saw his face in my mind's eye and saw a man with a ginger beard and moustache, a pleasant disposition, and not threatening at all, quite the contrary, he seemed genuinely intrigued and pleased to see us all, fascinated as we were, investigating the area for hours, reading the notice boards, smiling, thoroughly enjoying each second there throughout the evening and morning. I felt very deeply how hard the Miners must have worked there many years ago, and how many lost their lives touched me deeply as there must have been a lot judging by the amount of different spirit energies I sensed. At one point, I sneaked up a corridor and poked my camera around a corner as some spirits don't like to be photographed (shyness maybe?), and I sensed very strongly spirit presence, I took a photograph and lo and behold, there is a whopping bright orb lurking around the corner! I smiled and thanked the spirit silently in my mind. Was this Brian? Was Brian the spirit that had tapped me on the back of the neck earlier? A playful pleasant gentleman? :-)

Sam, one of the ladies with us, told me she sensed very strongly, spirit activity by a bucket of coal. Some photographs were taken and there are orbs present. I felt the bottom of my leg touched at one point, and in the Boiler room area, I felt my jacket tugged again, as this had previously occured in the Underground area. I also felt my father's presence all throughout the evening/morning and the fact that weeks ago after his passing away I had been poked in the back twice over 2 days, led me to believe that the tapping on the back of my head may not have been the spirit of Brian, but rather of my father as I had asked him before leaving my house to be with me on the investigation, I KNOW he was with me, others can believe what they want, but I have overwhelming evidence that over the past few weeks my father is in the spirit world, a believer (as he was previously a sceptic) and he is fine. So, in my heart of heart's I believe the tugging of my jacket in the Colliery Museum, in the kitchen, the Underground area and the Boiler Room, was my father saying hello, and also the spirit of Brian, was this someone he knew I wonder, from the other Colliery (Lewis Merthyr) and they both joined us at this Colliery? It's possible. I will do my research and find out. It's interesting that Siân (Karen's daughter) was also tapped on her back in the Underground area.

Clicking sounds were heard by the team, in various areas of the Colliery, the sound of horse's hoofs clip clopping on the floor (the Miners used pit ponies there years ago), and orbs are seen on photographs near the replicas of the ponies that are on display stands in the Boiler room and the Exhibition area!

I picked up on the names; Brian, George, Stewart, Steinway, I saw with my 3rd (mind's eye) a navy blue uniform with gold buttons down the centre, a hat with a red, white, blue stripe on it, and it would be interesting if this is verified at a later date to be a uniform someone once wore in the Colliery.

In the Underground area, I heard a creaking sound and sensed the presence of spirit behind me, you know when there is a spirit behind you if you
are a spirit medium! Again I saw the face of Brian, the ginger gentleman, in my mind's eye. He seemed to pop up in my mind quite a lot and
seemed excited to be showing us all around the Colliery. One of the team members also commented that she had a vision of a pleasant
gentleman beckoning us and smiling so that intrigued me.

In the Underground area, we all felt the sensations of a very cold breeze rushing past us, and Karen, spirit medium, has photographic evidence of a fantastic ectoplasm/spirit mist, that is wonderful.

The Boiler room area, some of us were extremely drawn to the steps near a doorway. Some of us have photographs of very distinctive bright orbs, and some have facial features in them, one even has a full head of hair, a beard and a moustache, you can clearly see the eyes, nose, mouth! I showed this photograph to some of the team and they commented on how it resembled the face of a man, possibly wearing a Welsh cap!

Karen's daugher, Siân, when both myself and Siân were carrying out some scrying, looking into a mirror, with a candle lit nearby, I saw her face change into a young male's, Siân commented afterwards on the name Philip, a young man in his 20's, he had injuries years ago and died afterwards, but after some time had passed. I saw the image in Siân's face during the scrying experiment, of a young boy called Andrew, aged approximately 13, with blue eyes. Did Philip and Andrew work together once there?

During the seance' later, we were all standing around in a circle, holding hands, drawing in spirit energies, and I saw with my literal eyes; white flashy lights, I sensed spirit were watching and observing us all, I felt an icy coldness on my right hand but not on my left, Andy one of the team members stood next to me kept commenting along with me that we both heard creaks and taps directly behind us and we sensed spirit behind us, standing there for quite a while. I didn't feel afraid, I felt privileged that spirit was near.

My camera, and Sam's camera, both played up all throughout the evening and morning, at one point my camera did something it's never done before, it took a photograph that didn't show up (blurred, fuzzy etc), then when home later and transferring the photos to my computer, the photo had reappeared, odd! In the investigation/event, my camera batteries constantly had to be recharged as they kept draining. I have been on 3 previous investigations and this is the first time my batteries have drained in approximately 10 minutes after I recharged them. I believe that due to this location, a Colliery where many Miners lost their lives, many spirits present in the area still, this would explain why my camera batteries drained so quickly, as in the other investigations i've had the honour of being on, fewer spirits were present, less energy = less camera battery drainage. OR the spirits in the Colliery had a stronger energy, and drained the batteries this way to show their presence among us.

In the Exhibition area, it is very interesting that a team member picked up on the name John Evans or Evans John, and in one of the display cabinet, was clearly this name written down in front of us, so this spirit gentleman was definately there with us, this is genuine verified proof. I felt very impressed.

All in all, it was a wonderful and very active place! Cefn Coed Colliery Museum. And an investigation/event that I enjoyed immensely. I hope to go back one day to see what other experiences the team encounter! :-D
