~ COLOURED RIBBONS ~

©  Utopia Spiritual Centre

For this activity we use a bunch of ribbons in assorted colours.
There are no rules as to which colours you should use, but I like to include each colour of the Chakra`s / Rainbow and then add other colours
or different shades of existing colours, which appeal to me. An ideal bunch of ribbons should contain between 10 and 15 colours or shades. Personally I like to use bright and colourful ribbons, but there are no set meanings to each colour.
A selection of different textures and/or ribbon width is also a good idea, but not essential.

One person should choose the ribbons and another should give the reading. The person choosing the ribbons should sit and hold the ribbons for a little while, then select three ribbons from the bunch. Some people prefer to do this with eyes closed and some believe you should select up to six ribbons, but personally I haven`t found any evidence either way is better! For the purposes of this exercise we shall use three ribbons but it will be up to you whether or not you wish to have eyes open or closed. There is no right or wrong way but obviously as you progress with reading ribbons you will develop your own way of doing so. The person who selected the ribbons should pass them to the person who will be reading them.
Some people like to use each ribbon to represent past, present and future. If so try to remember which was first, second and third and read in
that order- although again I have seen no evidence this is necessarily the best way to read them and you will develop your own way.
If you are the person doing the reading you should feel each ribbon in turn, what the texture is like.
Rough could mean problems or difficulties with a situation, smooth could mean everything is well in a situation. Study the colour/shade.
More than one colour may mean the same thing in some circumstances, although may have a slightly different level of meaning.

For example:

Reds are associated with the Base Chakra, grounding, energy, power, trust, and courage. Also physical health, the legs, colon, bones, spine, adrenal glands plus emotional stability & financial security.  A person choosing red may show one or more of these associations, or may be a person who loves warm climates, holidays, brightly coloured flowers, fruits, hot spicy food etc.

Oranges are associated with the Sacral Chakra, the centre of emotions, passion, pleasure, and also represents the reproductive organs.
A person who chooses orange may show one or more of these associations or may be a warm loving personality who enjoys sunshine,
the beach, flowers, citrus fruits etc.

Yellows represent the Solar Plexus Chakra, the centre of gut feeling, willpower, confidence, self respect, vitality, strength, spontaneity, self control, sense of purpose. Also associated with stomach, liver, nerves, muscles. A person who chooses yellow may show one or more of theses associations or may enjoy sunshine, the beach, flowers, citrus fruits etc.

Greens are associated with the Heart Chakra, relationships, empathy, reality, self worthiness, self acceptance, balance, compassion, also healing, arms, circulation and lungs. A person who chooses green may show one or more of these associations or may be a good healer or be
in need of some healing, a person who is empathic or compassionate to others, enjoy the outdoors, nature, salads and vegetables etc.

Blues are associated with the Throat Chakra, communication, truth, kindness, wisdom, self expression, creativity, spiritual awareness & development, also the thyroid and mouth. A person who chooses blue may show one or more of these associations or may enjoy peace, tranquility, the sea or water etc.

Indigos are associated with the Third Eye Chakra, thought, creativity, psychic skills, clairvoyance, intuition, imagination, divination skills, interpretation, also nose, left eye, ears, and pituary gland. A person choosing indigo may show one or more of these associations or may enjoy peace, tranquility, the sea, water etc.

Purples are associated with the Crown Chakra, knowledge, cosmic awareness, wisdom, conciousness, merging human mind with divine energies, also central nervous system and right eye. A person choosing violet may show one or more of these associations or may like flowers, be very spiritual in nature or spiritually advanced, enjoy peace & tranquility etc.

Pinks are associated with love, romance, passion, healing, and creativity, in addition to the same qualities as with Red (Base Chakra)

Gold has the same qualities as Orange (Sacral Chakra)

Lemon/Cream have the same qualities as Yellow (Solar plexus Chakra.)

y/Silver have the same qualities as Blue (Throat Chakra)

Lilac/White have the same qualities as Violet (Crown Chakra)

Remember these properties are only a guide, you will find your own meanings for each colour/shade as you progress.
There may be other colours/shades which you will also find your own meanings for.
Use your own feelings on the colours, shades, textures etc, and also use what you can pick up from the person you are reading for.
You may get some idea if they feel unwell, are sad or emotional, happy, fun loving, kind, generous, enjoy a holiday, love animals, flowers, etc.
Ask your guide/s to help you read the ribbons, see if you get any pictures or visions coming to you. If you hear or sense anything, any words, sounds, music etc... whatever you receive give it to the person you are reading for, even if it makes no sense to you… he/she may be able to accept or understand what you tell them.  Don`t worry if they can`t, just ask them to keep it in mind because it may be something yet to come.

Working with ribbons is a fun and relaxing activity, enjoy!
