~ PENDULUM ~

Note: Some crystal pendulums may have natural faults in the stone. This is not damage and does not affect it`s properties or abilities.
It is often considered these natural faults (slight cracks, pimples, holes etc) actually add to the authenticity and character of the stone.

It is best of you have your own pendulum so you are not working with mixed energies,
however if you don`t have your own Utopia has some for members to use during pendulum activities.

First you need to decide whether you want to use the pendulum with or without pendling charts or boards.
If you want to use it without, you need to discover how your guide will use the pendulum to respond to your questions.
You should therefore ask for a demonstration of four positions: search, yes, no and maybe. You can do this either out loud or mentally.

Hold the top of the chain or cord between your thumb and forefinger, letting the pendulum hang down -
it might be easier of you rest your elbow on a table. Make sure the pendulum is still then ask your guide to show you the search position.
It will either stay still or start to move. Make a note of this (and the type of movement, if it moves).

Now ask your guide to show you the yes response - you can do this by asking a question you know the answer can only be an affirmative
(e.g. Is today Saturday). The pendulum will start to move - if it doesn't, swing it in a gentle circular direction and then watch to see what movement
it settles into. It might swing backwards and forwards or from side to side. Do this a couple of times to check that this definitely is a yes response.

Repeat this process to discover the no response - once again, ask a question to which the only answer can be in the negative.
The pendulum will start to swing in a direction that's different from the yes response.
Again, check this a couple of times to ensure that both you and the pendulum are clear about what no means.

Now ask your guide to show you the fourth response - which you can interpret as maybe or silly question.
Just ask a very silly question (not one that could elicit a yes or no response however).
If the pendulum does not start to move, again swing it in a gentle circular direction then watch to see what movement it settles into.
It could be elliptical or diagonal for example.

No matter how many times you've used your pendulum, you should always check the four responses before you ask any questions.
Sometimes it will change the direction of yes and no, and this can cause havoc if you aren't aware of it!.

There are special pendulum/pendling boards and charts available which are excellent for use with a pendulum, especially when working with guides. The answer directions are set out on the board/chart so in this case your guide/s will swing the pendulum in these directions- which may be different to your usual responses. If you prefer to work using the boards/charts Utopia has a number of them available for you to use.

Once you have mastered the use of the pendulum you will have a tool that links your conscious mind to your subconscious mind,
and/or your spirit guide/s, allowing you make decisions- or your guide/s to assist and guide you through the pathways of life.
As with all new tools you must spend some time to learn how to use it properly.
